ABOUT THIS WINE
Le Bordeaux Du Paysan Rouge is an organic red wine from the Entre-deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, France. It is a collaboration between Satellite Wines, founded by Olivier Techer, and Vignobles Daniel & Nicolas Roux. The wine is made exclusively from Merlot grapes grown on clay-limestone soils. The producer's philosophy emphasizes natural winemaking and showcasing the purity of fruit and terroir. The 2022 vintage is a key example of this approach, with the red wine being produced with no added sulfur, reflecting a commitment to minimal intervention and organic practices. The Satellite Wines brand aims to present Bordeaux in a more accessible and natural light, drawing on the winemaking heritage of the Techer and Roux families.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2022 Le Bordeaux Du Paysan Rouge is crafted using natural winemaking techniques. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts, with a maceration period of 15 days. A significant aspect of its production is the complete absence of added sulfur, aligning with a natural wine philosophy. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a 6-month aging period in stainless steel vats to maintain its fresh fruit profile. The grapes are sourced from organically certified vineyards in the Entre-deux-Mers region, with the 2022 harvest being done by hand. This approach emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing the pure expression of the Merlot grape and the terroir.
