ABOUT THIS WINE
Le Cupole was first produced in 1995 as the second wine of the legendary Tenuta di Trinoro estate. Located in a remote corner of southern Tuscany near Sarteano, the estate was founded by the visionary Andrea Franchetti. He planted high-density vineyards in an area previously untouched by viticulture, a decision that defied local conventions. Today, Le Cupole has established its own identity as a highly respected Super Tuscan, offering the estate's signature depth and complexity. It represents a blend of Bordeaux varieties grown on clay and limestone soils, capturing the unique microclimate of the Val d'Orcia.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Le Cupole is highly meticulous, starting with parcel-by-parcel harvesting across the estate's diverse soils. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 10 to 15 days. This is followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation, which occurs partly in oak barrels and partly in concrete vats. The wine is aged for 8 months in used French oak barriques (second, third, and fourth passage) before being transferred to concrete vats for an additional 10 to 12 months of refinement and blending. To preserve its natural character, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
