ABOUT THIS WINE
Le Fraghe Bardolino DOC 2021 is a red wine from the Veneto region of Italy, produced by Le Fraghe di Matilde Poggi. The wine is primarily a blend of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, with the producer often using 80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella. The vineyards are situated at an elevation of 190 meters on south-facing slopes with glacial schist, sedimentary, and gravel-based soils. Matilde Poggi's winemaking philosophy emphasizes traditional, sustainable, and organic practices, aiming to capture the essence of the Bardolino terroir. The estate's name, 'Le Fraghe,' refers to wild strawberries found in the vineyards. The 2021 vintage is characterized by its bright ruby color and clear aromas. The wine is unoaked, with fermentation and aging taking place in stainless steel tanks.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Le Fraghe Bardolino DOC 2021 is produced using grapes from 15-year-old vines grown at an elevation of 190 meters on south-facing slopes. The soil is a product of glacial deposits, consisting of schist, sedimentary rock, and gravel. The vineyard density is 5,000 strains per hectare. Viticulture is certified organic, and the harvest is done by hand with yields of 90 q/ha. The Corvina and Rondinella grapes are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts 7-8 days, coinciding with fermentation, and involves daily cap management through délestage and pump-over. Cool maceration is employed. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks until bottling in the spring, with no oak usage.
