ABOUT THIS WINE
Viña Leyda's Single Vineyard Las Brisas 2022 is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Leyda Valley in Chile. Viña Leyda, founded in 1998, is recognized for its pioneering work in this cool-climate coastal region. The 'Las Brisas' vineyard, situated on hills of the Coastal Range with granitic soils, is directly influenced by sea breezes from the Pacific Ocean. This maritime effect moderates temperatures and extends the ripening period, contributing to the wine's distinctive character. The 2022 vintage is noted for its tension and vibrant profile, reflecting the unique terroir.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for Leyda Single Vineyard Las Brisas are fermented in stainless steel vats, with some portion in open tanks. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a 10-month aging period. This aging process utilizes a combination of 26% concrete vats, 14% French oak barrels, 12% untoasted foudres, and 48% stainless steel tanks. The harvest is timed later than in other Chilean regions due to the cool coastal climate, with grapes picked at various ripeness levels to maximize aroma development.
