ABOUT THIS WINE
Like Pearls On A String is a unique and thought-provoking wine crafted by Anders Frederik Steen and Anne Bruun Blauert, prominent figures in the natural wine movement. Hailing from Valvignères in Ardèche, France, their philosophy revolves around minimal intervention, encapsulated by "Nothing added. Nothing taken away." The 2022 vintage tells a compelling story of resilience and creativity; a severe storm decimated their harvest, leading to the innovative decision to create a field blend from the remaining Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Petit Sirah, Syrah, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This approach, akin to a chef working with seasonal ingredients, ensures each vintage is a distinct expression of its time and place. Their wines are known for being wild, uncompromising, and often sparking debate among enthusiasts, with names frequently inspired by song lyrics or poetry.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2022 vintage of Like Pearls On A String is a testament to adaptive and natural winemaking. Following a storm that drastically reduced yields, the remaining bunches of Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Grenache Noir, Syrah, and Petite Sirah were harvested together as a field blend. The grapes were meticulously destemmed by hand before being infused for approximately one month in the fermenting juice of Sauvignon Blanc. This unique infusion technique contributes to the wine's complex character. Post-fermentation, the wine underwent a significant three-year élevage in old barrels, allowing for slow maturation and integration. Adhering strictly to their "Nothing added. Nothing taken away" philosophy, the producers avoid any additions, including sulfites, and are known for employing oxidative techniques to shape their wines.
