ABOUT THIS WINE
Lusco Albariño is a 100% Albariño from the D.O. Rías Baixas in Galicia, Spain, specifically from the Condado de Tea sub-region. The name 'Lusco' refers to the twilight hour, evoking a sense of magic. The winery, Pazos de Lusco, is an ancestral estate now under the González Byass umbrella, emphasizing natural grape selection and traditional winemaking. Its inland location influences the wine, resulting in a riper profile compared to coastal Albariños, and it is recognized as a 'cult Albariño'.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Lusco Albariño begins with hand-harvested grapes. A cold maceration is performed for select parcels, lasting up to 12 hours. Fermentation is carried out using native yeasts in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a 4-month aging period on its fine lees. This meticulous approach aims to preserve the grape's varietal character and the unique qualities of the Rías Baixas terroir.
