ABOUT THIS WINE

The Saoumas, known for their meticulous approach and minimal intervention philosophy, manage nine vineyards across Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a focus on limestone soils. This particular cuvée is distinguished by its unusual minerality and structural complexity for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Magis Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc involves hard pressing of the white grapes with significant oxygenation. Fermentation is natural, often taking place in neutral oak barrels, including 500-liter demi-muids and 228-liter pièces, and sometimes in concrete eggs. The wine is aged on its lees for extended periods, typically 24-36 months, in new 500-liter barrels and other vessels. Minimal sulfur is added, usually only a month before bottling.
