ABOUT THIS WINE
The Maison Vulpin Chasselas 2022 is a white wine from Villeneuve, Switzerland, made from 100% Chasselas grapes. It is produced by Maison Vulpin, the label established by winemaker Jordi Renard in 2022. Renard, who transitioned from a career in the hotel industry, embraces a philosophy of minimal intervention to create natural wines that reflect their terroir. The vineyard is situated on the heights of Villeneuve, on a soil composed of Rhone moraine and clay-limestone, with vines planted in 1984. This specific vintage is part of the 'vins SAINS' movement in Switzerland, emphasizing wines made without added inputs or sulfites.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Maison Vulpin Chasselas 2022 is produced using a natural winemaking approach. Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed, followed by a 30-hour maceration period before pressing. Fermentation is spontaneous, utilizing native yeasts, and takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is subsequently aged in the same stainless steel environment. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with no sulfur dioxide (SO2) added throughout the process. The vineyard practices are biodynamic, emphasizing harmony with nature and lunar cycles.
