ABOUT THIS WINE
The Mandrarossa Frappato 2022 is a single-varietal Frappato from Terre Siciliane IGT, produced by Cantine Settesoli under their Mandrarossa brand. The wine originates from vineyards in Menfi, on Sicily's southwestern coast, at an altitude of 250 meters on sandy soils. The Mandrarossa range is dedicated to expressing an innovative and terroir-driven vision of Sicily, with Frappato being a key grape in this endeavor. The name 'Frappato' itself is derived from the Sicilian dialect word 'frappatu,' meaning fruity, underscoring the grape's aromatic qualities.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Mandrarossa Frappato 2022 undergoes maceration and fermentation for 4-6 days at temperatures between 22-25°C. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 3-4 months in steel vats or for 6-8 months in cement and steel tanks. The grapes are hand-harvested, typically in the first week of September. The 2022 vintage experienced a cool spring and average summer conditions with a brief heatwave, impacting yields but contributing to quality.
