ABOUT THIS WINE
Mariflor is the personal project of the legendary French consulting oenologist Michel Rolland and his wife, Dany, located within the Clos de los Siete estate in Mendoza's high-altitude Uco Valley. While Mendoza is famous for Malbec, Rolland planted a tiny two-hectare plot of Sauvignon Blanc in 2003 at 1,100 meters above sea level. His goal was to marry Argentina's intense mountain sunshine with the structural complexity and texture of a classic white Bordeaux, creating a unique, high-altitude expression of the grape.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested in small crates and undergo rigorous double-sorting. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures to preserve fresh aromatics, utilizing a combination of concrete egg-shaped tanks and a small portion of new French oak barrels. The wine is then aged for six months on its fine lees with active, manual batonnage (lees stirring). This traditional technique imparts a rich, unctuous texture and savory complexity, balancing the grape's natural high acidity.
