ABOUT THIS WINE
Martini Extra Dry Vermouth is a non-vintage aperitif produced by Martini & Rossi in Italy. Introduced on New Year's Day 1900, it was created by the sons of Luigi Rossi to mark the new century. It is crafted from a base of at least 75% Italian wines and a secret blend of botanicals, including Roman chamomile and Florentine orris root. The vermouth's creation is intrinsically linked to the history of Italian aperitivo and its subsequent influence on global cocktail culture, most notably as a namesake ingredient in the Dry Martini cocktail.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Martini Extra Dry Vermouth begins with high-quality Italian wines, which are then fortified with neutral grape spirits. A carefully guarded blend of approximately 40 botanicals, including Roman chamomile, Artemisia absinthium, juniper berries, citrus peels, coriander seed, and Florentine orris root, are infused through maceration and distillation. Caramel is added for color and a touch of sweetness. The mixture is then married, filtered, and rested in wooden barrels to allow the flavors to meld before bottling.
