ABOUT THIS WINE
Mas Cristine Côtes du Roussillon Rouge 2017 is a red wine from the Roussillon region of France. The estate, Mas Cristine, was established in 1810 and is situated in the Albères massif, near the Collioure/Banyuls cru. The vineyards are characterized by steep schist terraces and ancient, low-yielding vines. The wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan. The current team at Mas Cristine took over in 2006 with a philosophy focused on preserving tradition and highlighting the unique terroir and old vines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Mas Cristine Côtes du Roussillon Rouge begins with manual harvesting and destemming of the grapes. Maceration occurs in stainless steel vats for 20 to 30 days. A portion of the wine, around 35%, is aged in French oak barrels for one year, with a selection of the best barrels undergoing further aging in foudres. The estate employs low-intervention farming practices and is transitioning towards organic viticulture.
