WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Masseto begins with rigorous vineyard management and manual harvesting, followed by a meticulous selection of grapes. Fermentation occurs in concrete tanks and barrels, with maceration lasting between 21 and 28 days. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in 100% new oak barriques. The wine then spends 24 months in barriques, typically new French oak, before a further year of aging in bottle prior to release. This extended maturation period is designed to integrate the wine's components and develop its complexity.
