ABOUT THIS WINE
The Jim Barry McRae Wood Shiraz is a red wine from the Clare Valley, South Australia. It pays tribute to the winery's founder, Jim Barry, who established his first Shiraz vineyard on land acquired from Duncan McRae Wood in 1964. The wine was first introduced in 1992 as a response to the demand for the limited-production 'The Armagh' Shiraz. Jim Barry Wines, founded in 1959, is a multi-generational family winery recognized for its contributions to Australian winemaking, particularly in the Clare Valley.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Jim Barry McRae Wood Shiraz is produced using grapes sourced from various vineyards across the Clare Valley. Fermentation is conducted in open tanks. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes maturation for 12 months in French oak, with 20% of the oak being new. The blend incorporates fruit declassified from 'The Armagh' vineyard and other special parcels from the family's estates.
