ABOUT THIS WINE
Megas Oenos is a dry red wine from Domaine Skouras, located in the Peloponnese region of Greece. This wine is notable for its blend of 80% Agiorgitiko and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, a combination that helped define the 'Super Peloponnesian' style of winemaking. The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Nemea and Corinthia, with Agiorgitiko vines ranging from 31 to 73 years old and Cabernet Sauvignon vines around 35 to 41 years old. Domaine Skouras, founded by George Skouras, focuses on purity, varietal clarity, and expressing the unique terroir of its mesoclimate, believing that exceptional fruit is the foundation of great wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Megas Oenos 2020 is produced by Domaine Skouras using a blend of 80% Agiorgitiko and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alcoholic fermentation and extraction occur in stainless steel vats at 23°C. Full malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak. The wine undergoes an aging process of 18 months in new French barriques, followed by 6 months of bottle aging before release. The grapes are harvested in mid-September from high-altitude vineyards.
