ABOUT THIS WINE
The Melanie Pfister Macération Pinot Gris is a 2020 vintage white wine from Alsace, France, produced by Domaine Pfister. It is made exclusively from Pinot Gris grapes. What sets this wine apart is its maceration process, where the grape skins are left in contact with the juice for two weeks during fermentation. This technique, more commonly associated with red winemaking, contributes to the wine's distinctive color and structural elements. Domaine Pfister, led by eighth-generation winemaker Mélanie Pfister, has a long-standing family history in winemaking dating back to 1780. The estate is situated in the Alsace region, known for its quality white wines. The producer is committed to organic and biodynamic farming practices.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Melanie Pfister Macération Pinot Gris is produced using 100% Pinot Gris grapes harvested by hand at the end of September. A key technique employed is a two-week skin maceration during fermentation, which extracts color and tannins. Additionally, 20% of whole grape clusters were utilized in the vinification process. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging for 10 months in old oak barrels. The producer, Domaine Pfister, adheres to organic and biodynamic farming practices, with minimal sulfur added, primarily at bottling.
