ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Julien Meyer, situated in the Alsace village of Nothalten, is managed by Patrick and Mireille Meyer. The estate has been a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture since 1999. Patrick Meyer is highly regarded in the natural wine community for his minimalist philosophy, aiming to express the pure terroir of his clay, sand, and granite soils. 'Mer & Coquillages' (meaning 'Sea & Shellfish') is specifically crafted to capture the saline, mineral-driven essence of Alsace's traditional white varieties, offering an energetic and unadulterated expression of the region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process follows strict natural principles. Grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. Fermentation occurs spontaneously using only indigenous yeasts in neutral vessels. The wine is aged on its fine lees to build texture and complexity without losing its vibrant freshness. In keeping with Patrick Meyer's low-intervention philosophy, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with little to no sulfur added during the process.
