WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Mezzacorona Pinot Nero 2023 is produced from hand-harvested grapes picked in late September. Vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures for 12-14 days, with regular pumping over of the must. Malolactic conversion is also performed using selected cultures. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 5-6 months, with approximately 20% of the wine seeing an extended aging of 8-12 months in medium-toasted French oak. Mezzacorona employs sustainable viticultural practices, including reducing synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
