ABOUT THIS WINE
Freixenet Mia Sparkling Moscato is a semi-sweet sparkling wine from Spain. It is primarily made from Moscato grapes, with a small amount of Tempranillo added to introduce subtle complexity. The Mia wine line was developed by winemaker Gloria Collell, who sought to blend Spain's diverse grape culture with a fresh, modern sensibility. Freixenet, a winery established in 1861, collaborated with Collell to produce this accessible wine. The name 'Mia' translates to 'mine' in Spanish, signifying Collell's intention for consumers to feel a personal connection with the wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Freixenet Mia Sparkling Moscato is produced through a method that emphasizes freshness and effervescence. The initial fermentation of the Moscato grape must takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures. Following this, a second fermentation, referred to as 'prise de mousse,' occurs in sealed tanks to generate the wine's characteristic bubbles. The winemaking process is designed to halt fermentation by reducing the temperature once the desired alcohol level is reached. The wine is then filtered and bottled, retaining its vibrant and fruity profile.
