It originates from a single 2-hectare plot, 'Talhão 84,' planted in 2017 with a specific intention: to recreate the character of an old vineyard. This plot features a field blend of seven distinct grape varieties – Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Tinta Miúda, Touriga Franca, and Castelão – which are harvested and fermented together. Herdade da Mingorra is situated in the Baixo Alentejo region, an area recognized for its historical vineyards. The producer, Henrique Uva, aimed to establish an independent winery that highlights the unique qualities of these established vines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Mingorra Grand Reserva 2020 is produced using a field blend fermentation, where seven distinct grape varieties are harvested and fermented together from a single plot. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The 2020 vintage was characterized by a wet spring and a hot July, which influenced the grape development. The vineyard itself was planted in 2017 with the specific aim of replicating the characteristics of an old vineyard.
