ABOUT THIS WINE
Alta Alella was founded in 1991 by enologist Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and Cristina Guillén. Located just kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea in Alella, Catalonia, the estate's vineyards are planted on 'sauló'—a unique decomposed granitic sand. The 'Art Laietà' designation pays tribute to the ancient Layetani, an Iberian tribe that pioneered viticulture along the Barcelona coast over 2,000 years ago. Alta Alella is a member of the prestigious Grandes Pagos de España, highlighting its commitment to elite, terroir-driven estate wines.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
This organic Cava is crafted using the traditional method. Grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes to ensure fruit integrity. After a gentle pressing to extract only the premium free-run juice, each variety (Pansa Blanca, Macabeu, and Parellada) is fermented separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, where the wine is aged on its fine lees for a minimum of 18 months, meeting the strict requirements for Cava de Guarda Superior Reserva.
