WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Montefalco Rosso begins with hand-harvested grapes, typically collected in late September or early October. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks for approximately 10 days, with the grape skins present to facilitate color and tannin extraction. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are conducted in stainless steel at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for about 12 months in barrels and barriques. It then undergoes a minimum of 6 months of aging in the bottle before being released.
