WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Montipagano Montepulciano d'Abruzzo begins with hand-harvested grapes from late September to early October. Following destemming and soft pressing, the must undergoes fermentation in steel tanks at 26-28°C for 10-12 days, a process that helps retain the grape's vibrant fruit profile. Malolactic fermentation is then carried out to enhance smoothness and complexity. The wine is subsequently refined for a short period in oak barrels before bottling. Umani Ronchi emphasizes organic viticulture throughout its estates, reflecting a commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious winemaking practices.
