ABOUT THIS WINE
The Montrubi Serres Velles Cariñena 2021 is a single-varietal red wine made from 100% Cariñena grapes. These grapes are sourced from old vines, between 48 and 50 years old, planted in 1973. The producer, HMR Mont Rubí (Bodega Heretat Mont-Rubí), is based in the Penedès region of Catalonia, Spain. The winery was founded in 1984 by the Peris family and is dedicated to producing quality still wines from indigenous grapes, with a strong emphasis on organic and vegan practices. The wine's distinctiveness comes from its 100% Cariñena varietal, sourced from old vines, and the winery's commitment to organic and vegan production. The Cariñena DO, from which the grape originates, is one of the oldest demarcated appellations in Europe.
