The Montrubí Serres Velles Garnatxa 2021 is a 100% Garnacha Tinta red wine from the D.O. Penedès region of Catalonia, Spain, produced by Heretat MontRubí. The 'Serres Velles' range pays homage to the ancient Garnacha vines of the area. Heretat MontRubí, established in 1984 by the Peri family, draws on generations of winemaking knowledge in the Alto Penedès, an area with a long viticultural history. The winery is recognized for its commitment to traditional methods and was the first to produce 100% Sumoll wines. This wine is noted for its elegance, character, and an authentic expression of the Penedès, reflecting the variety and its natural surroundings. The vineyards are planted on calcareous soils at an elevation of 528 meters, positioned between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains. The 2021 vintage is characterized as concentrated, intense, and powerful. The wine is produced using organic and vegan farming practices and is made without added sulfites.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Montrubí Serres Velles Garnatxa 2021 is produced from Garnacha Tinta grapes. The harvest is conducted manually in early October. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a slow pressing of the grapes. The wine then undergoes a 6-month aging period in old French oak barrels. The winemaking process adheres to organic and vegan farming practices, and notably, no sulfites are added to the wine.
