ABOUT THIS WINE
Mores Langhe D.O.C. is a distinctive red wine from Azienda Vitivinicola Comm. G.B. Burlotto, produced in the renowned Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. It is the estate's only blended red wine, a harmonious combination of Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes, often in equal proportions. The wine's name, 'Mores,' poetically signifies the transformation of a challenging, stony landscape into a vibrant source of color, vitality, and fruity sweetness, echoing the perfumes of the countryside. The estate itself boasts a rich history, founded in 1850 by Giovan Battista Burlotto, a pioneer in bottling wine and a supplier to the Royal House of Savoy. Today, managed by the fifth generation, the winery upholds a philosophy of respecting tradition through courageous and inspired choices. The 2020 vintage benefited from favorable weather conditions, leading to wines with bright acidity and complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Mores Langhe D.O.C. is crafted through a thoughtful winemaking process that begins with a manual harvest and selection of de-stemmed Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes. These varieties are co-fermented in open stainless steel tanks, with daily pump-overs and punch-downs to manage extraction. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for nine months in 500-liter wooden barrels (small French barrels), followed by an additional nine months in large barrels (large Slavonian oak vats) or steel tanks after blending. This aging regimen aims to integrate the wine's components and develop its character.
