ABOUT THIS WINE
Samartzis Estate is located in the historic Valley of the Muses in Askri, Boeotia, at the foothills of Mount Helicon. Run by the Samartzis brothers, the estate is dedicated to reviving rare indigenous Greek grape varieties. Mouchtaro One is a single-origin rosé crafted from 100% Mouchtaro, an extremely rare red grape native to the region that was nearly extinct. Grown in the Papanikolas vineyard at an altitude of 380 to 420 meters, this wine showcases the unique terroir of lean clay-gravel soils and the cool mountain breezes of Central Greece.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are hand-harvested from the low-yielding Papanikolas vineyard. The wine is produced using the saignée (bleeding) method to extract vibrant color and structured phenolics from the thick-skinned Mouchtaro grapes. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh primary fruit characteristics and crisp acidity, resulting in a textured, gastronomic rosé.
