ABOUT THIS WINE
Established in 1989 in the Polkadraai Hills of Stellenbosch, South Africa, Mulderbosch Vineyards transformed a run-down farm affectionately known as 'Vuilplasie' ('dirty little farm') into an internationally acclaimed estate. In 1999, Mulderbosch pioneered the premium dry rosé category in South Africa by releasing its first Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé. Instantly recognizable by its distinctive vertical 'cigar band' label, this wine represents a commitment to treating red grape varieties with white winemaking precision. Under the guidance of cellar master Henry Kotzé, the estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture, sourcing fruit from select Coastal Region vineyards across Stellenbosch, Swartland, and Darling to capture the diverse terroir of the Western Cape.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for this rosé treats Cabernet Sauvignon with the precision of an aromatic white wine. Grapes are specifically farmed for rosé production and hand-harvested early in the season to preserve natural acidity. Upon arrival at the cellar, the fruit is destemmed and undergoes a brief cold maceration of approximately six hours for delicate color extraction. The juice is then cool-fermented at around 18°C in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using selected aromatic yeast strains. To maintain absolute fruit purity and youthful vibrancy, the wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel with zero oak contact, followed by early bottling.
