ABOUT THIS WINE
Ori Marani Nino Extra Brut 2020 is a traditional method sparkling wine from Georgia. Founded in 2016 by Bastien Warskotte and Nino Gvantseladze, Ori Marani aims to express the character of Georgian native grapes. The winery's name, 'Two Wineries,' reflects Bastien's ambition to have estates in both Georgia and his native Champagne. This particular wine is named in honor of Nino. The grapes are sourced from grower families in diverse Georgian regions, including Imereti, Shida Kartli, and Lechkhumi, with soils like limestone and clay contributing to the wine's profile. The winemaking approach blends traditional Georgian techniques, such as fermentation in qvevri, with French influences like aging in French oak barrels.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Ori Marani Nino Extra Brut 2020 is produced using the traditional method. The base wines are fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. A portion of the base wine (10%) is aged in qvevri, while the majority (90%) is aged in French oak barrels. Following secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine is aged on its lees for a minimum of 15 months. The grapes are sourced from growers who practice organic farming. The blend includes reserve wine, contributing to the wine's complexity.
