ABOUT THIS WINE
Taittinger Nocturne is a non-vintage Sec Champagne from the Taittinger house in Champagne, France. It is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. The wine was initially conceived with the name 'City Lights' and is intended for late-night enjoyment. Taittinger is a historic Champagne house that has remained family-owned since its founding in 1734, with the family actively involved in its operations. The wine's distinctiveness lies in its Sec style, which includes a higher dosage than Brut Champagnes, and its extended aging period, contributing to a smoother, rounder profile.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Taittinger Nocturne is produced using the traditional Méthode Champenoise. The grapes, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, are sourced from a selection of crus. Following primary fermentation, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle to create its effervescence. A significant aspect of its production is the extended aging period of at least four years on its lees, which contributes to its texture and complexity. The dosage, the addition of a small amount of wine and sugar before final corking, is set at 17.5g/L, classifying it as a Sec (off-dry) style.
