ABOUT THIS WINE
The Black Stallion North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is the first release from this appellation for Black Stallion Estate Winery, continuing their tradition of approachable Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery, owned by the fourth-generation Indelicato family, is situated on Napa Valley's Silverado Trail and has a history tied to equestrianism. The grapes are sourced from various vineyards across the North Coast region of California, including Mendocino, Sonoma, and Suisun Valley. The 2022 vintage experienced a mild growing season followed by a late-season heatwave that accelerated ripening, necessitating careful vineyard management.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Black Stallion North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 was produced using fruit sourced from diverse North Coast vineyards. Individual vineyard blocks were fermented separately to showcase unique site characteristics. Fermentations were monitored daily with adjustments made to pump-over timing for optimal extraction of color and aromatics, and to develop tannins. Grapes were pressed based on tannin expression, and malolactic fermentation was employed. The wine was subsequently aged on oak.
