ABOUT THIS WINE
Novicium is the second wine from Continuum Estate, a family-owned winery on Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley, founded by Tim and Marcia Mondavi to honor a four-generation winemaking legacy. The estate's philosophy centers on 'winegrowing,' emphasizing the expression of terroir from their Sage Mountain Vineyard. The 2019 vintage is sourced from this elevated, west-southwest facing vineyard with volcanic soils, benefiting from a balanced growing season. Novicium is considered a vision into the future of the estate's farming and winemaking direction.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2019 Novicium is produced by Continuum Estate using fruit from their Sage Mountain Vineyard on Pritchard Hill. The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (76%), with Petit Verdot (12%), Cabernet Franc (10%), and Merlot (2%). Following harvest, the wine undergoes 22 months of aging in French barriques, with 66% of the barrels being new oak. The estate emphasizes sustainable and biodynamic farming practices. The 2019 vintage was characterized by a balanced year and a longer growing season.
