ABOUT THIS WINE
The Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chaliots 2022 from Domaine Michel Gros is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Burgundy region. The 'Les Chaliots' climat is distinguished by its alluvial cone soil, rich in 'chailles' (flinty stones), which contributes to its minerality and acidity. Situated in the southern part of Nuits-Saint-Georges, bordering Vosne-Romanée, this wine reflects its specific terroir. Domaine Michel Gros is a historic estate with a long family lineage in Burgundy, now managed by the seventh generation, focusing on quality winemaking.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chaliots begins with 100% destemmed Pinot Noir fruit. Fermentation occurs in cement vats with daily pumping over (remontage) to manage extraction. To achieve concentration, must concentration may be used, as chaptalization has been avoided since 1996. The wine then undergoes 18 months of aging in oak barrels, with about 30% new oak. Sustainable farming practices are a component of the domaine's approach.
