ABOUT THIS WINE
The Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Charbonnières 2022 is a 100% Pinot Noir from Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. The vineyard, 'Les Charbonnières,' is situated in the southern part of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation, characterized by soils of marl, sand, and pebbles. Jean-Claude Boisset, a négociant house established in 1961, produces this wine under the guidance of winemaker Grégory Patriat, who emphasizes a vineyard-led approach. The 2022 vintage was marked by a warm, dry summer, contributing to the ripeness of the grapes.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Charbonnières 2022 begins with hand-harvested grapes. Fifty percent of the grapes are destemmed, and fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes aging for 12 months in French oak barrels, with an additional 8 months on the lees. The oak used is toasted at low temperatures to impart subtle oak characteristics, with a variable proportion of new oak employed.
