ABOUT THIS WINE
Domaine Hughes-Beguet's 'Oh Yeah' is a still white wine from the Jura region of France, primarily made from Savagnin, with some vintages including Chardonnay. The wine is named 'Oh Yeah' as a playful reference to its 'ouillé' (topped-up) winemaking style, contrasting with traditional Jura oxidative methods, and also in homage to jazz musician Charles Mingus. Winemaker Patrice Béguet, who left a career in information technology to return to his native Jura, is dedicated to biodynamic and organic viticulture, holding Demeter certification. His philosophy centers on minimal intervention to allow the pure expression of the terroir. The vineyards are located in the Arbois and Arbois Pupillin appellations, with vines averaging around 40 years old.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 'Oh Yeah' is produced using the 'ouillé' method, where barrels are topped up to prevent oxidation, resulting in a fresh, non-oxidative white wine. Fermentation is initiated by indigenous yeasts and can extend for up to six months. Aging takes place in a mix of fiberglass, old barriques, and egg-shaped barrels, with the 2023 vintage spending eight months in barrel. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration and with minimal or no added sulfites, adhering to a natural winemaking approach. Grapes are hand-harvested from biodynamically farmed vineyards.
