WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Cline Old Vine Zinfandel begins with de-stemming and lightly crushing the Zinfandel grapes to preserve fruit integrity and limit harsh tannin extraction. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled, closed stainless steel tanks using selected wine yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, with 35% of the barrels being new, imparting a medium toast level. Cline Cellars is a Certified California Sustainable Vineyard and Winery, incorporating practices such as solar power and promoting natural pest control.
