ABOUT THIS WINE
Cline Family Cellars' Old Vine Zinfandel is a testament to the winery's commitment to preserving California's viticultural heritage. The Cline family, with a legacy of old-world farming traditions, has dedicated itself to restoring and nurturing these head-pruned, dry-farmed vines. WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Old Vine Zinfandel is crafted from 100% Zinfandel grapes sourced from Cline's historic old vines in Lodi. Following de-stemming and light crushing, the grapes undergo fermentation in closed stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine is then aged for approximately eight months in oak barrels, with a portion of new French oak used to impart subtle complexity. This approach emphasizes preserving the varietal's fruit-forward character while integrating nuanced oak influences. The winery's commitment to traditional, sustainable viticulture, particularly the restoration of ancient dry-farmed vines, is a cornerstone of its winemaking process.
