ABOUT THIS WINE
Orben 2019 is a red wine from Bodegas Izadi, situated in Rioja Alavesa, Spain. The Orben project, established in 2007, is dedicated to exploring high-altitude terroirs within Rioja Alavesa, specifically around Laguardia. This wine is crafted from grapes sourced from micro-plots of old vines, some dating back to the mid-20th century, planted in the higher elevations of the region. These vineyards are characterized by clay-limestone soils. Bodegas Izadi is part of the Artevino Family Wineries group, which guides its winemaking philosophy. The wine is primarily made from Tempranillo, with a small addition of Graciano.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Orben 2019 is produced by Bodegas Izadi, with grapes sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Rioja Alavesa. The winemaking process begins with a manual harvest, collecting grapes in 15 kg boxes to ensure quality. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in both new barrels and stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with half being new and the other half second-year barrels.
