ABOUT THIS WINE
Orion by Masseria Li Veli is a 100% Primitivo red wine from the Salento IGT in Puglia, Italy. The wine's name, 'Orion,' is inspired by an ancient road that served as a historical border, linking the wine to the estate's rich past. Masseria Li Veli was founded in 1999 by the Falvo family, who aimed to create exceptional wines in Puglia, drawing on their Tuscan heritage and focusing on native grape varietals. The estate itself is situated on a historic farmstead. This particular bottling seeks to offer an authentic expression of Salento's Primitivo, emphasizing regional character over overly jammy profiles.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process for Orion begins with grapes harvested in late August. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled steel tanks to maintain freshness and control the process. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes a six-month aging period in French oak barriques, which contributes to its structure and complexity. Some of the grapes may be cultivated using the traditional Alberello vine training system, reflecting a blend of modern techniques and regional heritage.
