ABOUT THIS WINE
The Weingut Bernhard Ott Ott Ried Gmirk Gösing Grüner Veltliner 2023 is a single-vineyard expression from the Wagram region of Lower Austria. The 'Gmirk' vineyard is a specific site contributing to the wine's terroir-driven character. Weingut Bernhard Ott is a family-owned winery with a history dating back to 1889, currently managed by the fourth generation, Bernhard Ott. The winery cultivates approximately 60 hectares of vineyards, all farmed biodynamically since 2006. Grüner Veltliner is the predominant grape variety planted, followed by Riesling. The producer's philosophy centers on sustainable viticultural practices, biodiversity, and a low-intervention winemaking approach to create wines that reflect their origin.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner are hand-harvested and then whole clusters are pressed using a basket press. The wine undergoes eight hours of skin contact before fermentation. Fermentation is initiated by wild yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for an extended period on its lees in large Stockinger oak fouders. Weingut Bernhard Ott farms its vineyards biodynamically, focusing on sustainable practices and biodiversity.
