ABOUT THIS WINE
Par Les Dunes 2021 is a red wine from La Grange du Nord, located in the Gard region of Southern Rhône, France. It is classified as Vin de France and has an ABV of 12.5%. The blend is primarily Grenache (90%) with a combined 10% of Clairette, Carignan, Syrah, and Cinsault. The winemakers, Frédéric and Delphine Agneray, are committed to organic viticulture and low-intervention winemaking. Frédéric Agneray, who transitioned from a literature background, established the estate in 2014 with a philosophy of producing 'living wines' that are elegant and nuanced, a departure from more traditional Southern Rhône styles. The 2021 vintage was noted as challenging in the region.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Par Les Dunes 2021 is produced by La Grange du Nord using organic farming methods. The grapes are hand-harvested. The winemaking process involves spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. The Grenache undergoes a 5-day whole-cluster maceration, while the other grape varieties (Clairette, Carignan, Syrah, Cinsault) are direct-pressed and co-fermented. The wine is aged in neutral vessels, such as fiberglass or steel tanks, with no oak influence. It is bottled unfiltered and unfined, with minimal or no additional sulfites added.
