ABOUT THIS WINE
Paso-Primero Tinto is the flagship red wine from Thomas and Emma Holt, an English couple who moved to the Somontano region in northern Spain to establish their winery. Located in Barbastro, at the foothills of the Pyrenees, the estate benefits from a dramatic continental climate with high diurnal temperature shifts. This unique microclimate allows the grapes to retain high natural acidity while achieving optimal phenolic ripeness. The wine is crafted to showcase the vibrant, fruit-forward character of Somontano, blending traditional Spanish varieties with international grapes.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes are harvested from sustainably farmed vineyards in Somontano. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh primary fruit aromas. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged briefly in stainless steel and neutral oak to add complexity without overpowering the bright fruit profile. It is minimally fined and filtered, making it vegan-friendly.
