ABOUT THIS WINE

Produced by Penfolds, which was founded in 1844 by Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold, this bottling showcases three grape varieties that have formed the backbone of Barossa Valley viticulture since the late 19th century.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro grapes are sourced entirely from established old-vine vineyards in the Barossa Valley. Each variety is harvested and vinified separately in controlled vessels to ensure optimal flavor, acid, and tannin expression. The wine is then blended and matured for 9 months in seasoned oak hogsheads (63% French oak and 37% American oak) with no new oak used, maintaining pure varietal fruit expression.
