ABOUT THIS WINE
Pèppoli Chianti Classico is a historic estate wine produced by the legendary Marchesi Antinori, a family with over 26 generations of winemaking heritage in Tuscany. The Pèppoli estate itself dates back to 1379 when Vallombrosan monks first cultivated vines on these hillsides. Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone, near San Casciano Val di Pesa, the vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate in a sheltered valley with gravelly, mineral-rich soils. This wine is crafted to be a highly accessible, vibrant, and fruit-forward expression of Chianti Classico, representing a modern approach to the region's traditional Sangiovese grape.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The grapes for Pèppoli are harvested by hand from mid-September to early October. Each variety is vinified separately to respect its unique characteristics. After destemming and gentle crushing, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 26–28 °C to preserve primary fruit and floral aromas. Sangiovese undergoes skin contact for 10–12 days, while Merlot and Syrah macerate for up to 14 days to extract soft, supple tannins. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is blended and aged for approximately nine months, predominantly in large Slavonian oak barrels, with a small portion in barriques and stainless steel to maintain freshness.
