ABOUT THIS WINE
Perica Oro Reserva Especial 2011 is a red wine from the D.O.Ca Rioja Alta, Spain, produced by Bodegas Perica. This family winery, established in 1912, emphasizes control over its vineyard production. The wine is crafted from Tempranillo (95%) and Graciano (5%) grapes, sourced from old family vineyards, some exceeding 60 years in age. The 2011 vintage was characterized by a hot, dry summer following a wet winter, leading to reduced yields but concentrated fruit. The wine is considered the top expression from Bodegas Perica, produced only in vintages deemed climatically suitable.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
Perica Oro Reserva Especial 2011 is produced by Bodegas Perica using Tempranillo and Graciano grapes from old family vineyards. The harvest is manual, with grapes undergoing a double selection process. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in French oak vats with long macerations, followed by malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. The wine is aged for 24-32 months in new French oak barrels and then bottle-aged for at least 18 months before release.
