ABOUT THIS WINE
The Dominio del Águila Picaro Tinto 2022 is a red wine from Ribera del Duero, Castilla y León, Spain. Produced by Dominio del Águila, founded by Jorge Monzón and Isabel Rodero, the wine's philosophy blends tradition with technical knowledge. Monzón's background includes experience at Vega Sicilia and internships in Burgundy. The grapes are sourced from north-facing vineyards with vines at least 60 years old, some exceeding a century. The wine is unique for its focus on elegance and freshness, incorporating a co-fermented blend that includes white Albillo grapes, a departure from more extraction-focused styles. Farming practices are certified organic.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Dominio del Águila Picaro Tinto 2022 is produced using co-fermentation of its grape varieties, including the white Albillo. Harvested from selected parcels, the grapes are non-destemmed and trodden by foot. Fermentation occurs naturally with whole clusters. Following malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, the wine undergoes an aging process of 19 months in oak. The winery's approach prioritizes artisanal methods and respect for nature, with certified organic farming practices.
