ABOUT THIS WINE
Dominio de Pingus's 'Pingus' 2020 is a 100% Tempranillo red wine from the Ribera del Duero DO in Spain. Founded in 1995 by Peter Sisseck, the estate focuses on expressing the terroir of old-vine vineyards. The wine is sourced from vines that are 65-70 years old, grown in limestone-rich soils. The 2020 vintage was warm, resulting in an early harvest. Pingus is recognized for its singularity and individuality.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The 2020 Pingus is produced from 100% Tempranillo grapes. The fruit is completely de-stemmed and hand-sorted before undergoing fermentation with native yeasts. Maceration lasts for two to three weeks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak barriques. The vines are cultivated using traditional 'en vaso' systems and are never fertilized or treated with pesticides, with some vineyards employing biodynamic practices.
