ABOUT THIS WINE
Pino Román Tinto País is crafted by winemaker Ignacio 'Nacho' Pino Román in the coastal hills of Trehuaco within Chile's southern Itata Valley. Sourced from Eliana Sanhueza’s small three-hectare vineyard, this wine represents a dedication to preserving Chile's viticultural heritage. The vines are over 60 years old, ungrafted, and dry-farmed on decomposed granite soils. This cool-climate maritime setting, located just 20 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, allows the historic País grape to develop bright acidity and delicate, rustic complexity.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The winemaking process is strictly low-intervention. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented naturally with wild yeasts. To preserve the fresh, vibrant character of the País grape, the wine is crafted with minimal manipulation, remaining unfined and unfiltered. Minimal sulfur is added only at bottling to maintain stability while respecting the raw, living nature of the wine, which can result in a beautifully rustic and slightly reductive profile in its youth.
