ABOUT THIS WINE
Grosjean Premetta is a red wine from Società Agricola Grosjean Vins s.s. in Italy's Valle d'Aosta DOC. It is primarily made from the Premetta grape, an indigenous and rare variety of the region, with a small addition of Cornalin. The grapes are sourced from the domaine's highest vineyards, situated at approximately 800 meters above sea level, on sandy, shallow soils with stone residue. Grosjean Vins is recognized for being one of the few, if not the only, producers to vinify Premetta as a single-varietal wine, thereby obtaining a VDA DOC Premetta. The Grosjean family has a three-generation history in the region, with a winemaking philosophy focused on traditional Valle d'Aosta methods and minimal intervention.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Grosjean Premetta undergoes a brief maceration period of approximately 8-10 days, utilizing indigenous yeasts for fermentation. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 6-7 months exclusively in stainless steel tanks. This process is designed to maintain the purity of the Premetta grape and the alpine terroir. The domaine employs organic farming practices in its high-altitude vineyards.
