ABOUT THIS WINE
L'Archetipo's Primitivo hails from the Salento region of Puglia, Italy, a testament to Francesco Valentino Dibenedetto's lifelong pursuit of agricultural harmony. The winery practices Synergistic Agriculture, a method that eliminates plowing to cultivate a self-sustaining vineyard ecosystem. This approach, inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka, views the vineyard as a complete, balanced entity where all living elements work in synergy. The Dibenedetto family, including Francesco, his wife Anna Maria, and their four children, are deeply involved in this project, viewing the wine as a means to communicate their mission of soil regeneration. The vineyards are situated on limestone soils at an elevation of 320 meters, contributing to the unique character of this 100% Primitivo wine.

WINE MAKING PROCESS
The Primitivo from L'Archetipo is crafted with a deep commitment to minimal intervention. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts, often initiated with a pied de cuve, in a cellar built from tuff. The wine is typically unfiltered and unfined, with very low levels of sulfur dioxide added, if any. Aging takes place in neutral stainless steel tanks to maintain the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. This approach reflects the winery's philosophy of allowing the natural character of the Primitivo grape and its unique vineyard environment to define the wine.
